QUALIFICATION

  • Excellent knowledge in Accounting Software Packages and Internet Usage.
  • Previous experience in top level managerial role is preferred.
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting (related qualifications may be considered).
  • Professional Qualification in Accounting
  • Must be above 40 years old.
  • Executive Manners.

 

DUTIES

  1. Work closely with General Manager as part of the management team to ensure the company is focused on budgeted numbers and be a key partner in delivering business objectives, including but not limited to variances of revenue and provide an accurate financial position with identification of risk and opportunity.
  2. Accounting software especially Sage ACCPAC
  3. Robustly review the monthly P&L, working capital and balance sheet and actively participate in reviews with management.
  4. Ensure tight cost control and management of all costs in the P&L.
  5. Coordinate and review monthly management financial reporting package, KPIs, and take appropriate action to drive improvement.
  6. Oversee and resolve any issues or concerns to the local general ledger and related accounting practices, including payables, receivables, inventories, fixed assets, payrolls and balance sheet reconciliations.
  7. Prepare and assist with appropriate commentary or explanations relating to report items of particular interest and conduct any pertinent investigation of the accounts.
  8. Work with department heads/managers to manage budgets including revenue/direct margin.
  9. Drive a focus on optimizing cash flow throughout the corporate financial team.
  10. Work with operational team to ensure KPIs for efficiency and utilisation are kept up date, understood and used appropriately to drive corporate financial improvement.
  11. Coordinate forecast and planning schedules for finance and operational teams, communicate requirements to organisation on a timely basis and drive delivery schedule.
  12. Participate in the Commercial discussions for the business by reviewing, monitoring and advising the Sales & Marketing teams.
  13. Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems and internal control, including documentation of local process.
  14. Assist the statutory audits and liaise with the auditor as needed.
  15. Manage cash requirements, liaising with management to minimise on hand cash and maximise investment returns.
  16. Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable.
  17. Provide effective leadership in controllership in accordance with the company’s values, goals and objectives.
  18. Ensure compliance of the company’s practices with applicable legislation and tax authorities.
  19. Speak with all using clear and professional language.
  20. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all.
  21. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  22. Perform all other reasonable job duties as may be requested by the Management.
  23. Extended working hours where necessary.
